Seals, gaskets, hoses? Six years is a long time...especially with the underhood heat our cars are exposed to.

This is true but I would say more so on a vehicle used everyday. In my case some of my collector cars only come out on the road a few times a year. I drove my 73' probably less then 50 miles so far this year. I mentioned earlier about having tires on it since 82'. Believe it or not the car still has the original factory upper and lower radiator hoses on it and they still look like new 32 years later with 25K on the car. I don't drive the car very far when I do drive it. Its basically driven locally and to shows. If I had to take it on a long trip everything would be replaced but that hasn't been the case. I did change the heater hoses twice since I owned the car in the last 23 years though and even those when taken off and cut in half looked like new. No softness in the rubber or swollen hoses in neither the radiator or heater hoses. I did change the V-belts once. Everything else under the hood is original including the emissions plumbing going down to the exhaust manifolds.
