stock speakers
In the process of redoing my interior I disconected the large box speakers a prior owner had put in the back of my car. These were the sort of speakers the rap kids put in their cars.
Anyway, I was thinking of putting some regular speakers in the rear, or maybe one of those speaker bars that some of the parts suppliers sell. But I drove the car the other day with only the front (original equipment) dash speakers (my car is a 1970, so they are nothing special) and I have to tell you that I had a very big smile on my face. It was amazing!
It has been at least twenty years since I have listened to music in a car that did not have at least six speakers and some fancy modern stereo. But here I was listening to 70's and 80's music the way we used to do it in the 70's and early 80's, the way it was really intended to be listened to. I felt like I was in high school again (over 20 years ago). I forgot how great it was when you didn't have to have concert quality (and extra loud) music to really enjoy yourself. The music had a lot of treble, very little bass, and I've got to tell you it never sounded better. I think I'm going to leave it the way it is!
