Default More help requested for project

Well, as was inevitable, I have a few more questions about our ’80. First, I’m not sure where the computer for this car would/should be located. I want to see if it’s still in the car but can’t seem to find the location.
Next, what Quadrajet/EGR compatible intake do you recommend that will fit under the stock hood while using the original airbox?
And finally, what is the best way to remove the front clip when it is disconnected from the rest of the body and the radiator support and front frame extension are not attached?

Thanks again everyone.

80 = no computer 81 & 82 do have an ECM and those are located on the back of the firewall behind the seats, in front of the battery.

The best way for removing the front clip??? IS it chiseled loose already? If not carefully chisel along the a pillar and on the inside of the fender next to the air box (pass side) and brake booster (drivers side), then with the rad frame removed, the supports removed (on inside of the fenders, you'll see metal strips and triangular shaped brackets) all you have to do is make sure the lights & horns, cruise control transduver and so on are disconnected, the vac. hoses also and if the bolt in the front of the nose bar is out (there's a floating nut plate in it)..then it's jsut a matter of lifting the thing up.

Default Thanks Twin Turbo

Thanks for the reply.....I guess I should have specified in my first post that this is a California car that had the computer-controlled emissions/carb setup. I think there should be an ECM in there somewhere...is it in the same location as the '81/'82?

Oh, a 305 LG4... yeah forgot about those, the ECM is in the same place as on the 82 & 82, behind the firewall in front of the battery. The 80 LG4 system is the same as the 82 L81

Thanks....hopefully it's not been removed. It seems EVERYONE would rather forget the LG4!
Thanks again!

Say what? Most want to ditch that engine and it's peripherals on day 1... Are you doing a NCRS-style restoration? I mean, that's cool if you are, I'm just curious.

CGGorman, I would really like to find/use an LG4 and revert it back to stock, but it seems the supply of correct parts is a little thin, so I think I'm going to end up using the 350 currently in the car.
(unless you have a 305 to trade!)
