Thanks Norval,

Fine ride and I bet its a blast to drive . This is the tensioner pulley bracket I have with my Wiend 671 .It mounts around the harmonic balancer .... ofcourse it will not work because of the crossmember on the frame . Wieand told me they didnt have any other brackets , do you know who may that will work on my blower ? I am going to need a bracket similar to yours ...... up high .

I wish that was correct but no , it bolts to the front of the block right around the balancer . I pulled it off a friends engine in his truck .

I am probably going to have to make a bracket to mount it just like yours .

unfourtunatley my camera is unavailable at the momoent. i bought this weiand 871 kit for BBC from summit racing .

the part number for my bracket , that goes around the nose of the blower is 7071 on my packing slip. that is for the unpolished bracket. I was told by weiand the diffence in the 671/ 871 etc is the leangth of the standoffs . if you add a P to the number it is for the polished unit. a call to holley will get you all the info on it.
greg
PS i don't know if it matters but this is for the 8mm belt system

I can't see a bracket around the harmonic balancer?? I feel you are trying to mount it in the wrong spot. Weiand makes one bracket and it is the normal bracket that bolts to the blower up top. That looks like my bracket or very similar. I will have to take a picture.

there are a lot of differnt kinds of brackets. don't know if weiand makes them all but you can find many kinds out there. snout mounted, blower case mounted and block mounted. the picture you posted looks very like a picture i have of a mooneyham kit in my book ":street supercharging" . a quick look over ar www.blowerdriveservice.com would proably help you out on this one.

I wish ya were right but unfortunetely not . I am the one who pulled it off of my friends engine . The pic I have posted of it is exactly like it mounts to the block . There are two holes in the block on each side of the balancer , this is where it bolted to . The tensioner hung down low to the left . This came out of a 81 Chevy pickup truck so the crossmember of the frame was not in the way . On my vette , it will be .

I checked that site out but unfortunetly , there were no pics or diagrams to view ... so it was no help .

I sure wish that pic you last posted gave a better view of that bracket .

How about just buying the bracket from wieand?? They would sell the normal bracket like I have and it just bolts to the blower.

Several months ago , I called the phone number on thier website and spoke with a supposed tech . He did not appear to be very well educated on wieand blowers but yet he was a tech ????
Anyways he told me there was no bracket for the tensioner to mount up by the drive for my blower . I told him that seemed odd but alrighty then . I figured I would have to make a bracket .

Hell , he could not even tell me how to determine what year model the blower was or where a serial number might would be to make sure it was a 671 .
