Default Engine Test Stand

I want to build an engine stand where I can run an engine. I have done this when I would build an engine in the shipyards. We would build what we called skids, mount the engines on them, provide cooling water, fuel, and have gauges setup where we could monitor it as it ran.

My numbers matching small block from my Vette is just sitting in the corner of the garage and I would like to run it once in a while. I am building a Big Block for my Vette and would like to run it on the stand to work out the kinks before dropping it in the Vette.

Does anybody know where I can find plans to build one where I can mount Chevy Big Blocks as well as small blocks on a stand?

That is a pretty cool stand!!

I wonder if it will walk around if the throttle is punched?

Thanks for finding it!

Default Glad to help

It should be easy to build.

Just use 2 swivel casters and 2 fixed ones with locks on all of them.
Headers should clear the mounts ok.

Just a few thoughts,

Here are a couple of links to a site that I was checking out with the same thoughts.

The second site gives you the measurements of the stand.

Good luck,
Jeff
