painting a carb
is it possible to paint a carb...q-jet.... i tried cleaning mine and no success...so, i was curious if i can paint it..... with all the small pieces and adjustments would it be pointless to paint......?

Take a look at Eastwoods Carb re-new spray paint. I used it on a hopelessly worn vintage Holley 4150 that didn't turn out too bad.
If you can spray it lightly and evenly it looks pretty good. I had to spray it rather heavy to cover the mottled metal.
Of course the carb should be dissasembeled and cleaned before applying paint

i wonder if i can pick some of that paint at murrays or an automotive store.... that engine looks HOTT..... mine was almost there but my painter efed it all up..... anyways..... thanks.. also... do they make a rebuild kit or something for the q-jets.... i mine as well rebuild it if i have to take it apart...

rebuild kit for q-jets? You bet, not a hard job either. Not as many "small" parts as you might suspect. I rebuild my old one, took about 2-3 hours including the time it took to let the parts dry after soaking in carb cleaner.
