Ballast Resistor?
Having an interesting problem where the C-3 (which has sat for 2 years) will start with the key in the start position, but dies as soon as the key is switched to on. Is there a ballast resistor of this year of car, or some equivalent? If not, any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Equivalent? Yes. It's a resistor wire that runs from the R terminal on the starter solenoid to the coil's + terminal. With the key in the run position you should see 6-9v on this wire. In the key start position, there's another wire that feed full 12v (actually, battery level) to the coil's + terminal. But if you're going to test the run wire, you want to test it for continuity if it fails voltage. The problem could actually be in the ignition switch.
