Just purchased new carpet. It's been over a year since I pulled out the old carpet on this restoration. I don't remember the carpet being glued down. I'm looking for some direction, do you glue it everywhere or just in certain areas? If there is someone who's done it and would give me their email address I'd certainly apreciate it. I checked out the article on carpet installation at Corvettemagazine.com but it doesn't answer my questions totally. Help!
I've used 3-M spray adhesive on the carpets I've done. You may want to apply primer to the metal areas if you haven't done so. Also, re-tap the threads on the seat bolts prior to carpet installation.

I glued the carpet down in the rear area. Especially the vertical section under the back of the rear window and over the fenders.
I also glued it down i the flat area between the storage compartment and the rear vertical section, but that was because the carpet kept pulling back and leaving a 1/4" gap exposed on the backside of the storage compartment trim.
Only gued mine down in stratigic areas. Dips, valleys, humps, pressure areas etc.
Especially where your feet go as you enter & exit. People tend to slide their feet forward on the carpet as they enter & exit.

I was tempted, but didnt glue mine down at all.
I had used two cans of spray adhesive installing the Reflectix insulation and was tired of the stink. After all that was glued in, I just put the carpet down over it. It's been a year now and no problems yet other than the drivers' side floor mat sliding up all the time. I'd like to be able to keep the floor mat in place but the carpet's fine.
