I need new calipers. The sleeves are done on the front. Any experience or ideas on who I should go with? I have a 69 350/350.. The prices go from $300 to $550 and I'm not sure there is a difference.
I'm in the same boat. I'm just going to go with a kit from Vette Brakes and Parts. There are verying grades of kits there as well, but I think the big difference is new Delco vs rebuilt. At least with them, I know I'm getting parts I can trust with a return policy.
I have rebuilt calipers before so I'm not concerned about new vs rebuilt. The sleeves are grooved in mine. There is so much about OEM vs O rings I'm not sure what to do. And IMO the VBP core charge is rediculous so I'm not going there.
I had excellent results with auto zone. Replaced all four, none leaked and they have an excellent return policy as well. If it leaks bring it in and swap it, no questions.

I've tried rebuilt with poor results so I purchased new calipers from Lone Star http://www.lonestarcaliper.com/ (I think they bought the castings from GM) and have not had a problem since. Lone Star also sells rebuilt units, but ask for the new ones...and I sold my old calipers to a well-known caliper rebuilder to offset the cost of the new calipers.
