Default Grundy Ins. info. requested

Did a search and did not find much so I would appreciate any feedback. My insurance is up for renewal, I have Farmers now, full corverage, no driving limits, around 350. for 6 months. I checked on a quote from Grundys today, 160. a year for full coverage.

Question is, anyone have any bad experiance with Grundy? Should I go with them? What is your opinion of them?

Thanks for your help.

Have Grundy about a year now. No problems, but then I haven't had to use them.

You may want to consider Hagerty Ins. also.

got grundys now, had hagertys prior. insured for $30,000 agreed value and grundys was about $100 cheaper. had no claims w/either and don't want to. neither asked for my mileage or gave me a limit. had to send pics of exterior, interior and engine etc for agreed value.

I am going with Grundy as they seem to be the only ones that have an unlimited mileage requirement, and they offer more than my state minimum liability payout requirements. Also, their price was a lot better than the others I got quoted for the same agreed value. I hope they are good if I ever have to make a claim.

I used to use American Collectors. I will admit they were very prompt when I needed to get my windshield replaced. I just couldn't deal with the mileage requirement now that my car is almost done.

I have been with American Collectors since the early 80's but switched my policy over to Grundy the first of this year for all my collector cars. Grundy definetly has a better deal then AC with the unlimited mileage and better coverage. American Collectors insures for 100-300 thou liability Grundy insures for a 100-500 thou liability. Grundy Collector car insurance is backed up by Chubb insurance company here in New Jersey.

Grundy does not have year limitations.
I have my 69 Vette, 95 Firehawk and 01 Lightning all insured through them.

Thank You for contacting GRUNDY WORLDWIDE. Unfortunately, we are unable to insure Corvettes model year 1974 or newer unless the vehicle is part of a collection of collector cars. Best of luck in your search for proper coverage on your vehicle.

Respectfully,

GRUNDY WORLDWIDE

Question here. Is your 74' Corvette your main vehicle? How many drivers and how many cars are in your family? These are other items Grundy considers as well as American Collectors and others on whether they will insure you. There have been plenty of people who try to insure their main driver with low cost collector insurance. You can't blame them if this is the case. I am sure they did a check on your records with your regular insurance company and any records with the state. You are the first that I know of to be turned away. Give American Collectors a call. I started with one collector car when I first insured with them years ago. Like I said earlier in a post I was insured until the first of the year with American Collectors insurance. They are a good insurance company but they limit your mileage.

Your car is over 25 years old. You shouldn't have any problem getting collector car insurance on that car.

My Car is a '78. It has Jersey QQ tags and is driven maybe a 1000 miles a year, not my daily driver. 2 drivers in the house hold and 5 cars between us.

American Collectors says you need at least 10 years driving experience and i'm 25 so I don't make that cut off.

I'm wondering if that was just a nice way to turn me down or if it's that way for everyone. If someone signs up with them and you have a 74 or over let me know so I can call and find out the real reason they won't cover me.
