A question about 700r4
I have a 383 in a 82 with all the bells I could buy.(no computer). I'm geared down and have the trans. tricked out. I have a problem, tho. On the 82 you can not hold the trans. in low gear. The gate will only go down to L2. I think it's a gate problem. Is there a way around it? I would like to be able to shift from 1st to 2nd at my leisure sometimes. Thanks for any help. Larry

or you can buy the detent from BTO and put it in, that has the the 1st gear gate. the detent on the left is for the 700r4(with out the drill marks on i) is what you want to make your detent look like if you file it down. the other detent is for the TH350.
these are oriented as "mirror images"....with the "park detents" facing each other.
