Thanks all. She is intact but neglected. Silver paint is mottled. Tried sanding w clay bar with no results. She sat in a carport under a Wolf cover, but had not been waxed in 6 years. She leaks oil. Mainseal? And as this is our first vette, what kind of gas mileage should we get? Original carb, L48, 54,000 mi. She burns gas at a ferocious rate. Also should we use an octane booster?
thanks again

Congrats...car looks good...has the car been sitting for a long time? The oil leak could be just the plastic washer on the drain plug (Boy would that be great!) cause its cracked & dry. I never realy figured out my gas consumption...it a Corvette Have fun!

My 78 L48 gets between 16 and 18 mpg.
Pretty respectable for old technology.
The L48 is low enough compression that the only difference octane booster will make is to your pocketbook.
Here are some pics of my 78: http://photobucket.com/albums/y297/fl_rider/

PS: Nice ride!!!
