I'm gonna bite the bullet.
And take my Vette into a shop. I just can't get the Hurst shifter from locking up in reverse, and I don't have another person to sit inside the car working the shifter while I try to figure out what's jamming up underneath.
I stopped at a new local shop, been open since March, but the owner has been in the specialty auto restoration business since '93 in a smaller building not far from here. Now he's got a huge garage with about 10 cars in various state of restoration/repair. He had a Packard, a TR3, '69 Mustang, a couple Jag's and a Bug-eye Sprite. One in particular that caught my eye was this sharp C2.
He's been looking for mechanics but said no one wil even answer any ads he has in the paper.
He's got a 502 ramjet with Vintage air.
Anyway, this will be the first time I've had anyone touch my Vette in 5 years. I'm going to drop it off right before I go on vacation and told him he can have it for a week. He can get to it when he has time.
Looks like he has some wrenching experience Good luck Len, I know how it sucks when we have to leave our car someplace other than it's nest in the garage, I hated when I had to do it for an inspection.

It does suck.
That sure is a nice looking c2.
Have fun on your vacation, Im sure your vette will be ok!

Change in plans, I'm gonna drop the Vette off this afternoon. I didn't want her out of my garage while I'm away. I'll feel better anyway. I told him he can keep it all week if needed.
Len, Now there is a mechanic with some with good taste Looks like he did a very good job on that stinger hood.
Adjusting the linkage should be pretty easy. Were you aware of the home made tool the GM shop manual describes? It is used to align the linkage for proper rod position.
Have fun on your vacation.....We are also on vac heading for the Black Hills

I know that I'm from right down the road from you... Where'd you take the car? The only place that I could think that you were talking about is the one across from Citizens bank on Route 8 (next to Naughty and Nice!)

I don't know, I'm getting an uneasy feeling now. I explained how the BB's starter is sometimes a victim of "heat-soak," he said he never heard of such a thing. Now I've been modding cars since the 60's and had a few cars that got heat soak. He said the guy with the 502 C2 never mentioned anything about it.
