Honestly,
and it's only my opinion. I think the bubble tail lights look very cheap. They remind me of a mod that a teenager would do on the car and I think it really takes away from a nice clean look. I have seen some tail lights from early Vettes used on later Vettes and vice versa. Some of those swaps look pretty cool. If I was going to do anything to my tail lights, I think my first inclination would be to go with the LED's. Hope I survive this opinion.

I kind of feel that way sometimes, that's why I was hoping for some opinions. What do you mean LED's? I am talking about the lenses only, unless you are referring to some new think that is a part of the lense?
Red73, LOVE the 3rd brake light, I have been trying to figure out how to do the same thing. Any details?

The LED's replace your bulbs and add kind of a neat look due to the many diodes. You might have seen them on some big rigs. They are brighter and last forever. You would still have to decide on the lenses but after you do LED's might be something you would like. My favorite part of installing them is the fact they hardly use any power at all which can be a plus to those of us not running very many amps.
When I went to the 80-82 bumper, I was going to go with 4 1982 taillights but couldn't find any at a decent price. The going rate was $55 each. The kit for the bubbles was $70 for all four. I like having four brakelights due to the fact that some people just can't seem to notice two plus these are very bright.
BTW, IMHO, LED's are for new cars. Especially with the clear taillights.
I liked the idea of having all 4 tail lights working, but didn't like the looks of bubble lights. So I ordered set of 4 new stock tail lights and I think they look great, not too many even notice any difference.
