I made a decision last month to put my vette in the garage to finally fix all those little things that I never got around to fixing plus the big things. I started dissasembly so I can't drive it. I'm having serious withdrawals.
How do you guys get over it?
I am doing quite a bit of work so I don't expect to be done with it until maybe next year.
To all the black vette event guys, although I've been to every one of them so far, I will have to miss this year, have fun! Seeya next year.
It's been over two years for me! You really miss driving it in the summer. I just go to as many shows as I can and work on the car when I get a chance. What else can you do???
In Minnesota it usually isn't going to happen by choice. We've got about 6 months from the time the salt gets washed off the roads until it snows again. That's the downside. The upside is I get to work on old cars 6 months at a time with no worry what I'm missing. :o
I fix the little things throughout the year and during each winter I do a major project. This winter was the new front end and overdrive and next winter will be the trailing arms and rear suspension.
This way the car is never down too long but still getsthe major repairs done.

I just kept coming to the forum for my Vette Fix. So many nice cars on here and folks are always doing some neat things to their cars. This is a great place to kill some time and learn about your vette.
I now have about 4 little projects piling up to install in the vette. I am not so sure I want to tackle them all at the same time or one at a time to keep it on the road. Just keep plugging at it and you will be back on the road in short order.

I can't deal with it.
Mine has only been down about 30 days for the engine & tranny swap. I'm slow. I planned it this way and left the 350 in there until the last possible day.
Went to my first car cruise with the BB about 2 weeks after I dropped her in. I like to keep summer "down-time" at a minimum.
AHHHHggggg!
I broke my spindle back in 98 (reg said 99 but I think I had a year left)
Hemmed and hawwd just about how to fix it so bought a boat to eliminate the speed limit problem. No speed limits on the water.
I should mention when it broke there really wasn't much of an internet back then.
Well that turned into a nitemare itself and now, this year am stuck doing.... crap around the house. The good thing is the Vette got priority over the boat but... damn I want the boat too.

To make things worse Its almost finished .
For others this boat project can be a warning to those fixing their Vettes, don't get a case of the "I might as wells" All I had was a cracked hull and now it never seems to end, but thats me sitting around thinking "how about this"? "I might as well since thats being done"The endless boat project. .
You've got it bad? I got no vette and no boat and a whole lot of house crap (almost done!)
I got tired of working on the 69 during summer due to things needed attention and also staring at the intake I bought almost a year ago still in my spare BR. Since I bought the 65 SB coupe last November, I can tear into the 69 and still have a vette to hit the criuse-ins and shows. Life is good!
The hard part will be when they are both streetable, which one to drive!
Im going through the same thing i havent drove my car for 9 months im going i find the burn out videos help alot my favorite is the alaska guy with the black stingray
