Default mirror options?

right now, i have no mirrors on my vette..... i was gonna put them on but i like the clean look that i have going with my 77.... i was thinking about putting those little low profile mirrors on the upper part of the windshield pillars........ i would think it would look nice.... anyone have any pics of a vette with those types of mirrors...prolly would be a track car ...

Wow, I haven't logged on to the forums since summer/ fall of '04-
Some things have really changed!

Here's a little topic I participated in a while back-
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...um_id=3&arch=1
The only photo in the old thread was of one of the manta ray concepts.

I have 2 little rectangular convex mirrors that I taped to my rear view mirror to get almost eliminate my blind spot. I was thinking of mounting one of these inside the car.

I mocked it up, and it seems that the best place for the mirrors I had, seemed to be at the visor mount.

So, maybe if I remove my visors, I could find a motorcycle mirror or even a custom hot rod mirror to mount where the visors used to be.

here's a few links i found with some mirrors

http://www.vwvortex.com/artman/publi...ter_1424.shtml
http://www.cloudelectric.com/item.jh...4&PRID=1244703
http://www.rpminnovations.com/auto-car.htm
http://www.empius.com/e/extmirrors.html
http://www.speednspares.co.uk/acatal...l_Mirrors.html

the last link had some cool bike mirrors.... also, i think i would have to find a really small mounting surface on the mirror since i will be putting it on the pillar..... the bike ones look cool....... i would have to see them in person to really figure it out.....

u know what ones are on that manta in your thread/pic?

I, personally, was considering mounting the mirrors inside the vehicle, and shaving everything once I have the time/ cash (maybe 2010)

As for the manta ray (actually its the mako II) mirrors - its an old pic that I found somewhere on the web, so I have no clue as to what sort of mirrors those are... besides its a pretty bad pic and you can barely see the mirrors. But if I were to guess, since the car was a one-off concept from the 60's, its probably something they made up in-house.

I was thinking of mounting two small cameras frenched in to the "b" pillars of the vette. Then using two five inch monitors to view with on the dash. This would be really high tech. I already have a small camera on the rear of the 82 that views the rear on the dvd monitor on the dash.

i had that same idea... i was gonna mount cameras in the side vents though..... one in the front and one in the back with two small monitors in the dash..... once i talleyed up the numbers, i said forget it....too much.... u would have to get the water proof/night cammys and all that other stuff.......... the visor idea would be pimp........ have the mirrors on that and just swing them out when driving...... since my vette is a cruiser, the tops will be off and windows down most of the time....also, the windows would have to be down just a bit to clear the visor/mirror arm........ i'll see if i could mock something up with that..... i shaved my handles/locks/marker lights/antenna/molded bumpers and shaved the mirrors......check my gallery....i'll get some updated pics soon....
