Default wheel studs ??

I'd like to upgrade my wheel studs from 7/16" to 1/2" - what is the correct "knurl" diameter ?? I looked at Summit's website and they list ARP and Moroso studs with .480" and .580" knurl diameter for late model Chevys...

those of you that have done this upgrade, do you have the ARP or Moroso part number for these studs (or the correct size) ??

thanks

I just replaced all my wheel studs on all 4 wheels. Went with the ARP 7/16 ones........480 knurl. If you have to go much bigger than the .480 knurl, it will be a PITA to drill out. The reason I stayed with the 7/16, is because of getting Rims to fit with out drilling them out. Also the 7/16 & 1/2 are the same strength by their Web Site. I do have a set of the Old Western Turbo Rims with the Slotted lug holes. The trick with the longer Studs is getting the right Lug Nuts to fit.

thanks

... so it's the .480" knurl diameter... I think they have 12mm metric studs with that 'knurl' available, that's right between 7/16" and 1/2"

BTW, the 190000psi that they advertize is pounds per square inch, with increasing diameter the stud is getting stronger.

I just went through this as well. It is the .480" knurl diameter. I know this for sure because I initially ordered the .580" and they were HUGE! Get .480" and you will be set.
