A couple people in another thread asked me to post pics of my front air dam so here they are...
I built it in two stages. Initially I only had the dam section directly under the car, no front spoiler. Then I had the idea to put the spoiler on to cool it even more and hopefully keep alot of air from getting under the car, not that I would need it since I don't regulary see speeds over 90mph. I can adjust it up for when I am driving around town so I dont scrape on any parking lot entries or speed bumps. In the fully down position it is 3 1/2" off the ground.
First stage...
Did you do anything to the space around the headlights and such? I though about doing something there too since so much built up air is lost in that direction.
I only have a kick up at the back of the dam that meets up with the bottom of the radiator support. I didnt box anything in on the inside because I figured as long as I got a lot of air moving in the direction I wanted I would be fine. I had a 20 minute drive yesterday in 90' heat and my car was already warmed up and I didn't have to turn my electric fan on once. It stayed steady at 190' which is fine by me.
Your car has the EXACT wheels on it that I want. What are they? (size/brand/did they fit without adaptors etc)
The wheels are American Racing AR767's 15x8 4"bs all around. I am using 1/2" spacers all the way around as well.

Thanks, I was initially going to buy the DOT approved Bassett wheels but they are out of stock for atleast a month and I couldn't wait that long. I have been thinking about marketing the air dam but I don't have time right now in between a full time job and get ready to go to college in a couple months, so we will see. I might see how much it would be to source it out if thats at all possible.
Haha I drove home today from work and its about 85* outside. I couldn't get the car above 170* the whole way home with no electric fan and I was getting on it the whole way home.

Pretty good idea. Would you happen to have some more pics that are taken in full sunlight so we can see it a little better. More airflow across the radiator is always a good idea and your idea looks good.

Tough to see from the pics... Did you leave the fiberglass
lower valence panel off and replace it with the steel ?
... or bolt the steel under the valence panel ?
Know what would be really slick ... somehow mount on a swivel
nut and use a piece of threaded rod on a power seat motor.
Then, it could be adjusted in the cockpit. You could add limit
switches for automatic height stops. Rotary encoders for digital memory,
or even speed sensing auto-height.

And a voice track that says 'Michael I sense a speed bump ahead so I am raising the spoiler' plus a red light that strobes back and forth.
Well, when even "the peasant's porsch...uh" (the new VW turbo thingy) has a couple of automatic spoilers...man, it's just HARD to not do something like that!!!
