Default sometimes I amaze myself

I do the stupidest things sometimes Even without trying!! Even when I am being careful. I was reassembling my shifter today, putting the center console back together, and you know that little spring that goes on the shifter. I put it in the hollow shifter and it slips down to god knows where!!!! Fortunately, after about 10 minutes I was able to fish it out with a coat hanger. So the little lockout thingy goes on FIRST, then the spring, then the ****.... duh!

I guess i'm lucky. The spring is pretty much stuck in the ball. I've had that shifter off numerous times, and the spring has yet to move from the ball.

had one of those handy - magnet is too big to fit!
For a few minutes I was wondering if the spring didn't fall all the way INTO the transmission!!

I almost did a dumb thing last night. I was prepping my new rebuilt trailing arms for the install. In my excitement I went ahead and installed the shock mount bolt without also installing the camber rod. I ruined the previouis shock mount bolts trying to get them out of the old trailing arms spindle supports. I was sitting there cursing the day I was born for doing this. Then I realized that I had greased the spindle supports where the shock mount bolt passes thru just incase I ever needed to remove them again. I grabbed a BFH and lightly tapped the shock mount bolt out. I ended up not embarrassing myself to much but it could have been bad if I had ruined another shock mount bolt.

ok , here is another one... this is something everybody does once, right? but once is enough, and then never again. But I have put a bend in a fuel line (or brake line) only to find both fittings on the wrong side of the bend! done it 3 times I think... ugh!

That's why I tape the fittings to the ends now.
