Default Dream Garages....

Got the following in my email:

We’re designing the premiere issue of Dream Garage - a magazine devoted to the world’s most impressive residential garages - and were wondering if you could help us identify potential garages and car collections that we could assign writers and photographers to cover.

Owners may remain anonymous and their garage locations will be kept in strict confidence if preferred. Otherwise we’d love to feature them in the story.

Our magazine overview and editorial mission is below if you’d like to take a look.

Thank you very much and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Jaime Moe

DREAM GARAGE MAGAZINE OVERVIEW

Every car lover has a dream garage. Ask them to describe it and you’ll hear a detailed account of Ferraris, Porsches, Bentleys, BMWs, Lamborghinis, Corvettes, Mustangs, and Muscle Cars. You’ll hear about an architectural marvel, both inside and out, with every design and gadget fantasy indulged. They’ll tell you a dream garage is an eternal work in progress, because there’s always an elusive car or ultimate set of tools to add. Or there’s the custom-made bar and plasma TV to install. And don’t forget the automatic car wash or even an indoor basketball court, because after all, they are what make a garage a dream garage - a uniquely personal space that is part trophy case, part workshop, and part clubhouse.

While most dream garages reside only in the imaginations of aspiring auto aficionados, quite a few have been brought to life and are featured on the pages of Dream Garage, a magazine devoted to inspiring and fulfilling every car lover’s ultimate fantasy.

EDITORIAL MISSION

Dream Garage magazine is for the auto enthusiast who knows that driving is only half the fun. The other half is spending time with their favorite cars in the ultimate garage – usually a custom-designed architectural marvel that is part trophy case, part workshop, and part clubhouse.

This Shelter/Car Magazine Hybrid captures the unique experience of building a dream garage and filling it with the world’s finest automobiles. Our editorial lineup features the most impressive garages in the world, valuing the design elements of the structures themselves as much as the exceptional collections of automobiles, tools, and gadgets found inside.

Readers learn the stories behind each dream garage and meet the remarkable personalities that brought them to life. They experience what it’s like to drive the cars, care for them, and hang out in a place built especially for them. Here, the ambitious enthusiast finds an incredibly entertaining quarterly filled with ideas and wonder – a magazine that informs as much as it inspires.

I've often thought that a magazine, web site, or discussion forum devoted to "residential garages" would be very successful.
I'm sure that Dream Garage Magazine will be a worthy publication but I get the feeling that it will only provide coverage for the mega-buck, extreme display garages. Nice to look at but not a reality for me.
I'd like to see coverage that leaned toward real world residential garages used by the typical middle class car crafter.
I wonder how much interest there would be for a "My Garage" section within the CorvetteForum!?!

I have a 24x36 garage that needs finishing inside. It is wired and has the lights already done. I have the material to do the insulation and interior sheeting. Y'all come on down and do one of those weekend dream garage programs on it and I will buy the beer.......... jim

My garage probably would not be considered a 'Dream Garage' but it is where I spend most of my day working on my Vette and other projects:

My "garage" (actually a warehouse) has something every guy needs...a bedroom, bathroom & kitchen! Perfect for those nights when the little lady banishes you to the sofa for spending too much time/money on your Vette:

Not mine but how about this one. A Boss 429 in the dining room. It belongs to a contractor here in Phx.

A couple nice rides suffering in the garage.

Older pics and not that great, but we now have the 4 post lift set up, air compressor, rolling tool box, over head lighting, oil drain, indoor car wash capabilities, 2 more work benches coming, and tons of banners.

It's becoming my dream car garage.

Cars in the garage:
1996 LT4 Convertible
1996 Grand Sport Convertible
2002 Corvette convertible

Sorry for all the pics, but I have more.

I'm close to having my monster garage and I'm certainly only a middle class guy. My garage is 35' x 50', all brick to match my house, 3- 10' x 12' doors. My budget and wife's honey-do's have prevented me from finishing the interior 'framed' look off to my liking.
I'd be extremely tickled to have Monster garage come in and do a final makeover for me. Let's see, a checkered floor, finished sheetrocked walls and ceiling painted white with a couple stripes around the room, nice flourescent lighting, some cabinets a bench, and a partition for a paint room would be awesome. I don't think I'm asking for much. Finish it and I'd be eternally grateful. I'll send as-is pictures if you'd like.

Damn! That's bigger than most homes. Is it an outbuilding or is it attached to your house? What's the s/f?

My "dream garage" would be a full-size home built OVER the garage (e.g. 1st flr. = all garage, 2nd flr. = all house).

P.S. - If it is attached to the house, I don't wanna see pics. With a garage that big, the house must be awesome.

LOL..is separate...house has it's own 2 car garage for the PRACTICAL vehicles. My "Stingray Alley" is 2,100 sq. ft. (31x71). My driveway is 450 ft. concrete...perfect for practicing 60 foot time launches
