I tracked down the scraping under hard acceleration to the fan hitting the shroud, so sounds like the mount is toast (I'll check tomorrow to be sure). I've been doing some searching and poly for the driver's side seems to be a good idea. Solid mount sounds a little too hard core, especially for the L48. I'm looking for brand recommendations and maybe an explanation on locking/non-locking mounts.
As far as I know, the interlocking mounts contain metal "fingers" that will prevent the plate part on the engine from completely separating from the part on the frame should the rubber/poly break due to engine movement. You can't tell just by looking - the interlock is within the rubber portion. I bought some fairly decent US made mounts at Auto Zone...

Go with Energy Suspensions poly mounts. for your motor they will be great and look good too. I'm sure that scrape you hear IS the fan and shroud due to a broken mount. Yes, the metal interlocks were developed to prevent engine lift, throttle bind open on cars. Only way to go if you go stock rubber, but don't. Technology is much improved now and poly is the best (short of solid) insurance.
Oh, by the way, you may want to install a tunbuckel from the frame to the motor in the future if you really start hammerin on the drivetrain. There are some really nice ones in stainless steel on the market. It use to be a piece of chain, but that was a long time ago.

Most times just the driver side mount will fail, even with a locking one the eng lifts up, mine did. I just bought one poly mount at AutoZone and put that on the driver side, eng barely moves compared to what it used to with 2 rubber mounts.
I last used ES motor mounts but not their trany mount- it was too tall. I had to go to a poly tranny mount from Prothane that either Summit or Jegs sells to get the correct one.
