I need some help When I lock my door on the passenger and driver side I have to remove the outside handle to get the door to open from the inside then it will unlock fine. But when the outside handle is in it will not unlock it is like something is jamming and i do not know what every thing looks right and I oiled and greesed everythin real good. so any ideas would be appriciated.
I think you need to remove your inner door panel and look at what is happening when the mechanism jams. I don't know how else you will find what is binding where. I would guess that you have a link rod backwards or the lock clip is reversed jamming the linkage.
door panel is already off thats how I am removing the outside handle. It jams somehow and I have looked at it and cant tell where is does it. But as soon as the outside handel is removed you can unlock the door and use the inside right at the door latch and it will open.
actually it is when you lock the car you can not unlock it with the key or the inside lock. I am planning on putting it keyless entry so. I do not know if this will help or make it worse
Make sure the "open" rod return spring on the outer handle is working...(not broken). It needs to retract in order for the latch/loch to open the door.
The rod from the outer handle down to the latch. The latch will NOT unlock with the opening rod depressed even a little bit. Make sure the rod lever on the latch returns all the way up.
