Im Looking For New Raised White Letter Or Raised White Outline Tires For My 69 Vette Convt. I Will Go Stock Size Or A Little Wide. I Am Looking For Suggestions On Sizes And Brands. Pictures Would Be Great.
Unfortunately the Raised White Letter (RWL) selection is not what it once was. You have your choice of the Firestone Indy 500, the Goodyear Eagle GTII, or Nascar edition Eagle (same tread pattern), the Dunlop GT Qualifier, or the BF Goodrich radial T/A. There are a few others out there. Page62 just bought some Yokohama raised white outline tires that look pretty good and I am sure there might be some other "foreign" tires out there to chose from. I went with the Firestone Indy 500's and am quite happy with them.
You can click on "My Corvette Photos" to the left to see my car with my "modified" Firestones mounted and unmounted. I stepped up from the 225/70R15 to a 255/60R15. You can't really go much bigger than that without modifications to the car. There are articles out there that will let you know what you need to do if you want to go bigger.
The firestone indy 500 tires get an excellent rating as do the Yokohama tires. I just put 255/60/15 Yokohamas on my 79 . I wasnt happy about putting rice tires on good ole american iron but after reading the reviews I went with my head and not my heart. It helped alot that the price was alot better on the Yokos than the Goodyear or Goodrich . Check out tirerack.com , the prices are excellent and reviews/ratings are included.

PS I did notice that the larger tires seem to pick up alot more scrap iron from the roads, I've had 2 flats in 2 weeks.
