Blue and white? I think it will look good that way or you could leave it racer black.

I'll probably have it painted in blue and white to match the car

That will look very good. Can't wait to see it installed and painted.

I'm curious to see if it makes any difference at all. To my knowledge there is 1000CF+ coming off the fan + on both sides of the cavity around a SB and the inner fenderwells is wide enough to pass enough air to feed a F-18 engine at full afterbuner so if your trying to get more air flow I don't see the difference. However if it's cooler air your looking for...........well your absolutely correct.

I'm running a cold air intake that pulls air from the cowl.. I don't want the hot air from the engine compartment. However, my carb sits only 1/8 inch under the hood and I doubt that I get enough air flow. I also want to run 1 - 2 inch carb spacers which I can't use without a scoop because of limited hood clearance..

Okay I see. The stock hood is one of the reason I have to run that damn 2.5" filter even with a drop base so I feel your pain.

I can't use any air filter because there's only 1/8 of an inch between the front air horn and the hood...
I'm using a high rise Super Victor CNC intake...

When I suggested this you said it wasn't an option (and I specifically said bolt on scoop so you could paint it seperate from the car and therefore not needing a complete new paintjob) ....

Didn't really notice any difference.. but that might be due to the low clearance between hood and carb... I think that I'm flowing too little air into the carb and I'm running rich... I also want to run a spacer... The Super Victor is supposed to perform better with spacers.. Ordered 1 and 2 inch spacers to experiment..
