Just wanted to add that Keisler is not the only game in town. Classic Chevy 5 speed also has the conversions. Great people to deal with and a great product.
I would like to add that the shifter that Classic Chevy has does NOT require the modification of the transmission therefore it does not void the factory warranty. Some may find this important to them. Classic Chevy 5 speed shifter is made by McLeod
With the other company mentioned there have been reports of the tail shaft leaking as it would have to be removed to make the modifications to the tail shaft for there style of shifter.

I have seen the Mcleod, it has an offset arm to which the shifter would be added. The problem with the offset arm is that when you move the shifter from side to side, the shifter handle will rise and fall oddly. I would like to try one to see how noticeable it is
Does anyone on the forum have the mcleod that can comment on its fit and function?
The fourth picture on your list (th_mini-P1010090.jpg) is the one I'm looking for. It shows the left side of the shifter base. There appears to be some structure just under the shifter that is difficult to make out. Is there any chance you might have another picture showing this detail?
I would say you can contact Classic Chevy 5 speed and talk to Jeff as he can fill you in on what options they have. Also you might want to take a look at there web site to get more info. But I would still contact them since they are always improving there products. They strive to make a better product instead of just stagnating.
I'll find out soon enough, I have a T5 in my vette that requires the shifter ext to put it in the stock position. I too am curious as to how much extra up/down motion there is.

Jeff is probably a great guy, but I prefer to hear from the folks on the forum, the customer, those with a more unbiased opinion. However, this may all be a moot point. I have replaced my engine with an LS1 and this pulls the transmission forward about 1". So it may be that neither the Keisler or McLeod shifter will work for me.
I'm contemplating making my own shifter and I'm thinking of adding the reverse lock out feature like the original shifter. If I go this route, I'll probably post the plans so that others can build one if they want

No cutting is necessary to do the install. I was able to put the tranny in with the help of my son. He helped me lift it up and into place. You have to keep the bellhousing unbolted and put the input shaft into the bellhousing. The bellhousing was loose and moved over to the passengers side. Once the input shaft was inside the bell housing, I lined the input shaft with the through out bearing and moved everything into place. I also had the tail shaft up and as far back in the tunnel prior to working the input shaft into place.
You will not notice any rise or fall that would not be normal with the shifter in its stock location as the step to the side so it comes up in the correct location is on the same plane.

Good News Split63!
Keisler Engineering has more custom shifter locations than anyone else on the face of the planet, so we probably have a way for you to use the LS1 and still have the shifter in the stock location!
You have to cut your car to use the Classic Chevy 5 Speed kit.

THE CC5S KIT WILL NOT FIT WITHOUT CUTTING YOUR CAR
There is no need to worry about the Tremec warranty since the Keisler kits have twice the warranty Tremec offers, and the Keisler warranty does not start runing until you install the kit in your car!!!!
Although I'm a ROD man myself, out of curiousity I went to Classic Chevy's website to check out their product. They have lots of good info and pics and that new shifter looks very good. If I were a Tremec man in the market for one, I would probably buy from them.
This new shifter does not require any cutting of your car. And they have an excellent Warranty and will stand behind there product.
I don't think this shifter will work for my setup. I have dropped in an LS1 and because the LS1 has a shorter block, it pulls the transmission forward about 1". Since the Keisler and this new CC shifter are all designed for the stock motor, the shifter will be 1" forward.
The only way it would work is if the shifter position was adjustable, and based on the pictures that I have seen for both, this does not appear to be the case.
