69 corvette alternator issues!

69 corvette alternator issues!
I seem to keep burning out the regulator in my alternator, and I am not sure what the problem may be. I'll get about two days of show and shine driving, then usually on the way home from the events the guage shows no charging!
Anybody have any suggestions?
