Is it just me or is it every time I go looking for 68 parts all I get is (Nope we got that for a 53-67 and 69 thru 2005). You guys with 68s have the same problem ? I know I know a 68 was a 1-year wonder. My latest delima is the wiper arms, the ones that came on the car were trashed just like every thing else I have touched on the car. What wiper arm will work other than a 68? I notice the 69 has the washers built into them. Surely another car used a wiper arm similar in length. I threw the old ones away so I am starting from scratch here. Any reccommendations ?
haven't had any problems finding hard to get parts...I needed a 68 only top reveal molding for the windshield...these moldings are rarer than a 67 l89...but I found one, and paid 125.00...chump change when this was the only one in existence...
You just have to be persistent and go to swap meets and keep looking.
Get used to it. It seems every time I need something, I find it's another 68 only part and not available. Sorry, cant help with the wiper arms. But NEVER throw any 68 parts away. Sometimes you can fabricate or restore cheaper than buying.
BTW, is it the passenger side that's unavailable. If so, you may be able to use a later year with a later year mount. If I recall, in 69 they change the arm and mount so a vacuum switch could be added for the wiper door.
If you're trying to keep it accurate for a 68, that's not going to help though.
