this isn't the first time i've posted something here and got an email like this.... i think there's a scam artist that visits this site.
Right after I signed up on this forum I started getting scam mail. I guess Corvette owners are prime targets for scammers.
But saying that I one time requested info on a bike forum and received the same message you received and I was not selling my bike only requesting info.
I listed spare parts on "craigslist" (www.craigslist.com) and the only inquiries I received were from the g-damn Nigerians. I fixed their azzes, though...made 'em send me the checks then told them I was keeping the $$$ and spending it on clothes and ho's. Boy...were they pizzed! I imagine it takes some work (and $) on their part to gather enough info to hack someone's account and arrange for the check to be sent.
I had something similar about a part I currently have listed for sale here.
He offered to pay 10% over what I was asking and ALL I had to do was send them my credit card info so they could post a credit because he was disabled and could not get to a bank to draw a check. Yeah, right!
Guess they must think we are all a bunch of patsies waiting around to hand them our bank accounts. They may be right, otherwise they would not keep trying.....
I checked the routing of the email and it was from overseas, probably somewhere in Asia.
