1969 w/out power brakes.
I just took the car out yesterday (to the trans shop ) after replaceing the L/R caliper. I had already relaced the R/R, because I didn't realize they were both bad.
Anyway, as I drove it to the shop, I was half way there before I even thought about the brakes. I have not owned a car without power brakes in almost 20 years and I didn't even notice until the guy in front of me turned without signalling and I had to put a little extra muscle on the brakes. Not a lot, just enought to remind me that these were not power.
I seriously doubt I will convert to power. These things feel good!
Damn straight! I don't understand the desire for the vacuum booster on these things... A properly tuned factory non-power system stops the car just fine and there is lots of pedal travel to make modulation a breeze. Race worthy? Questionable, but plenty good enough for street use and the occasional auto-x/track day (with sport pads).
