I do alot of show and shine and carshows with my club and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to finish the underside of the hood. I have mine painted a nice black but has anyone done anything like use aluminum or stainless steel as a finish?
I have an 80 with a stock hood.

of course, won't fit an 80, but I've seen a 75 at a local show without the cowl induction installed. Filled the "circle" of the hood insulation with an acrylic circular mirror with stingray flag emblems. He had it velcro'd on and removed it while driving, looked cool though.
I used to have a 75 L82. The inside of the hood was painted with the L82 logo in the center and pinstriping up the sides coming together with swirls in the top center of the hood. Looked great with the chromed up engine. My'69 is just plain old black. I miss the style.

Mine is just painted flat black. I like the look of it. Someone on here has a yellow vette with yellow spatter under the hood. I like the look of that too.
Here's a couple of photos of what I did to my stock '80 hood.......
I took a piece of sheet metal, painted it black, and had a vinyl graphic made for the "Heartbeat" logo. It's mounted with a couple of wires on hooks tapped and screwed into the hood (painted black so you can't see them). The other stuff on the panel are dash plaques from shows I've been to, plus some decals that come with some of the mods I've made. It's removed when driving, but when the hoods up, it kind of gives it a 3-D effect.
I had mine painted glossy black and did the hood seal retainers in yellow to match the car. Then I had a decal with the 82 badge made to go above that. I'll put a picture in the gallery but it takes awhile to see it.
