This car was the subject of an earlier discussion here. Several of us e-mailed the seller who insists the car is an LT-1 based on one letter in the VIN (which he may have misread). Apparently he didn't listen to any voice of reason and re-listed the car as an LT-1 again.
Oh, well...some sucker will show up here soon posting pics of the great deal he got on his new "LT-1".

Fifth digit should be an "L". Second digit should be a "Z" but was probably misread as a "7".
He told me in an e-mail about the "L", but when I saw his mistake with the "7", he lost all credibility. Several members e-mailed him about the error, but the almighty dollar wins...

I know mine is an LT-1. It has the hood and aluminum heads and aluminum intake. Mine is also a 5 speed manual. It does not have air, just like a 70 is supposed to be.
well, i just couldn't resist this one as i have had my 72' lt-1 air car since nov, 1974. the tach is supposed to be 5600 rpm's, lower than the normal 6200? for the regular lt-1. that is a very early vin number and chevrolet did not start to put a/c on lt-1's until the last few months of production, mine was built the third week of july, one of the last 700 built. no hood, no lt-1 motor, auto...
Yeah...that's a base engine...L48. Easy to recognize by the plain valve covers. The entire suspension has been rebuilt...you can tell because the springs are painted...original springs were not. I know that because I just pulled mine off and they still have the OEM tags on them. The undercarriage is also too clean.
OH wait! The alternator bracket has been painted orange!!! Wow...that is rare!
