That is freeking crazy!!!
Last week at our corvette club meeting the dealer GM came in and was telling us that they were going to be getting 1 Z06 and were not taking deposits on the car. It was going to be 1st to show up with the money. He mentioned that a broker had contacted the dealership and said they had several Z06's available at $20k over sticker. There is no way in hades I will ever pay over sticker for any new vehicle.
lol, speaking of people with too much money... Our dealership just sold all 3 ford GT's we had to some company for 700k. I believe sticker on them is only 140k each.

Once the hype dies off and they become common no one will care about them. It's all about the latest and greatest. Don't feel the need to show off....especially when you'll sell the car whenever the 'next' car comes out.
If I read that correctly, they're going to pay $34k OVER list price for the ability to order one of these? I guess one is born every minute...
I also heard on C&D or something that the list price was going to be "up there" in the neighborhood of $100k to start with. That seemed high, too ...but limited supply and high demand.
I know that if that guy could spare me a couple grand, I can get my vette pretty healthy
Geesh! You would be better off getting a stock C6 and buying the LS7, emblems and other couple of things that make a Z06 a Z06...pay someone to put it together for you and you would be ahead about 35k...

This Chevrolet dealer should be boycotted for their unethical practices and anyone who bid on the auction should see a mental health professional. Wait a few months and Chevy will let you buy one near invoice with a rebate. Better yet by a couple of C3's
Check the buyers feedback. It's very low and he has a negative on 1 item for non payment. In fact, most of the bidders had very low feedback. I'm pretty sure they didn't understand the terms of the agreement. I'm not too sure EBAY would even approve of this sales tactic.
The winning bidder will Never pay 108k for the car when he stiffed a seller for less that $300!
I wonder if the winner knows the terms of that auction. I kind of doubt it.
That's just crazy talk! Since when did someone have to take responsibility for their own actions? I read the listing, and it was obvious to me and many others here -- but someone should step in and protect us from ourselves!
I like the law's take on contractual situations. Freedom of and freedom to is the premise. Means that a contract is binding that both parties entered into willingly (coersion can make the contract null and void). Freedom to contract means that you are able to enter into any contract you choose, and then you will be bound by that contract. This ebay auction is a perfect display of someone freely entering into a contract to purchase -- and just because its' a "bad" deal, doesn't make it any less enforceable in the eyes of the law. Let there be consequences for actions for the buyer
Brian.
PS. This doesn't mean that the seller should take advantage of people -- but the terms of the sale were pretty clear.
I wonder if any of the bidders did not fully understand that they were not bidding on the actual car, but only on the rights to buy that car. Then they still need to come up with the $65,000 for the car itself.

I seriously doubt you could come out ahead money wise by making a clone of a z06. There are just too many expensive parts. Engine alone is 16k, not including the pcm, wiring harness, or any of the dry sump setup.

Ebay doesnt care. They did the same thing with the Ford GT's a while back. The markup on those were incredible. I believe the auction ended at like 80k over invoice.

I dont see what is so unethical about this. Supply and demand. The dealership I am working at just sold all 3 of our Ford GT's for 83k over sticker, each! We were advertising them for 100k over sticker!
