Today has been a good day so far...Woke up this morning, past my PMP exam (kinda like PE for engineers or CPA for accoutants), took the rest of the day off (with boss approval of course) so I decided I would spend time with the car.
Changed oil, filter, etc. Topped off diff fluid (leaks) and did some general stuff. However, I am trying to change the oil filter and it is freakin' stuck. Am I doing something wrong (i.e. the thread is reverse and I don't realize it) or is there something I am missing other than holding the big part with a wrench and lefty-loosey (counter-cw hile look at it)then removing, replacing and putting back together???
I have been trying iquid wrench and I am tempted to pull out the heat hammer (propane torch) with I have used on many other bolts in the past but I am guessing is NOT a good idea with fuel components.
Ehh? Oil filter or fuel filter? I'm assuming you're talking about that compression fitting on the fuel line that goes into the 1" fitting on the carb. Yes, I swear those suckers fuse into 1 piece of metal over the years. What I ended up doing was just cutting the line, taking the whole assembly off the carb (along with ~2" stub of fuel line) then patching in a section of rubber fuel line. *shrugs* It worked, no leaks for 3 years here.

Yeah, that is exactly where I am having th problem. You have any pics or more description of what you did? So far I am only managing to strip the darn fitting....Argh!
And today was going so well.
