drove the 68 today, burned a tank and a half in traffic, freeway, all over...needle did not budge past the first mark....outside temp was in the 90's...gotta love a good radiator...copper that is, re-cored and twin Spals. Best move I ever did, took my old rad and had the original header bars installed with the side tanks...only cost me 200.00...much cheaper than a new aluminum. Course this was in 2001.

Can't beat the feeling of relief by not worrying about over heating, esp with a BB. I had a similar trip about a month ago. Temp in 90's, city driving, stuck in traffic...a real test of the sytem.
Mine worked like yours. Needle never moved. I was impressed, but I'm using DeWitt's Direct fit aluminum and dual spals.
I could shift out of reverse but I didn't over heat.

I used to worry about overheating all the time.... watched the temp guage more than the speedo! 
It would gradually move to the right of 210 and I would start sweating! sometimes would puke coolant. very unpleasant! getting stuck in traffic was the worst! I did all the cheap little fixes; sealed everything around the radiator, drained and flushed, used water wetter, added a heaterhose shutoff valve, hi-flow 180 deg stat. What helped the most was adding jet hot coated headers. Temp hangs to the left of 210 almost always. If I sit and idle for 10 minutes it will creep up to 12 oclock (210).
