Anybody use this stuff? How did it work for you? How did you put it on?
I'm trying to get my airgap to seal. Unsuccessful on 2 tries so far. This time I'm using the gasket that Edel suggested (edel #7203) and the gaskacinch they also recommended. Directions on can say to apply and let sit for at least 5 minutes. Do you glop it on or use a thin coat? If any of you used it differently than the directions say to I'd be interested in hearing what you did. Thanks!
Got the manifold on tonite. Used the gaskacinch like you said, on both sides of the gasket, on the heads and intake and torqued the bolts to 35 lbs. I'll let it dry and button it up tomorrow nite and fire it up.
You can fire it up anytime...actually it is contact cement...but more money because of Edelbrock on the can
Yeah, just like that gasket which I suspect is a MrGasket unit.
I used RTV around the water ports and, of course, the end rails. I always let that set up for a while. Anyway, I was soaked to the skin and ready to get in the a/c. It was 95 yesterday, and with the high humidity, it was miserable outside.

Well i tried contact cement on my 5/16" cork vlv cover gaskets and it couldn't hold them onto vlv cover - must be a better sealer than adhesive (at least on metal). Now use RTV but even that is pulling off from so many on/off cycles on the vlv covers. Many swear by the Gaskacinch stuff though i never knew they wear the same.
BTW my favorite sealer is Permitex II. cardo0
