Default Changing Emblems

I just got some new emblems for my '79 and ready to change them. Question is, how t get the old ones off... They are mostly the glue on ones, the fuel door was a snap. Should I wire saw them off? Masking the area of course? I do have the AIM, but no clues in there yet... And how is the Corvette script held on? I see more glue (goo!) than I think I should..

Thanks in advance!

Make sure they don't have speed nuts on the alignment pins. My '77's emblems fell off after removing the speed nuts - the glue was totally worthless after 20+ years.
