I'm so darn happy I can hardly stand it! After convicing my wife I needed another vette, I've been on the hunt for a 1970 LT-1 after recently finishing up my 71. Well the stars and the moon lined up for me and I found one right here in Milwaukee, 25 minutes from my home. ....incredible!
It's a 4 owner 66K mile car originally purchased in Illinois, 4th owner brought to Milwaukee in 1995 and put just over 1K miles on it since....know one had seen this car around here and the owner had just gotten tired of looking at in the garage. Car was pretty well kept too and stored during the winter months. One repaint in 1982, original color Donnybrooke green. frame is in excellent condition with no rust and the original owner had car undercoated, I think this saved it. Original LT-1 motor, M-20 trans (wide ratio), 3:55 gears and standard black interior. Everything is in tact on the car (including the tank sticker) and all numbers matching with the exception of the starter. Only thing missing is the smog. Best part of the deal is that all of the owners kept every single piece of original paperwok on the car including the original bill of sale, Protecto Plate and even the original window sticker. Only problem on the car is the windshield was replaced in the 80's and not sealed real well on the drivers side, so there's some rust on the upper corner of the bird cage, but the rest of the cage is nice and solid with no other rust. Will have this fixed when I do a repaint after a body on restoration. let me know what you think (hope the pics post).....I feel so lucky and looking forward to tackling another project.
