You didn't mention Al Knoch which is who I would go with.

Corvette America as well. Them and Al Knock are the only manufactures of the door panels that I am aware of. The others guys are just reselling CA and AK's products.

You can also save some bux by buying the bare panels and re-using the original hardware. Thats what I did....Transferring the old hardware was easy, I repainted the black areas, polished up the chrome...they look awesome!

just remember that the door panels don't include the arm rest!

Your corvette will look funny like mine did for about a month before I bought new arm rest to match my new door panels.

Default thanks one more question

If all of the above companies buy from Corvette America or Al Knoch and resell them why are some prices $200 cheaper. Are they selling seconds or what.

That is a considerable difference in price for what appears to be the same product if you are right and they but from the same companies.

Am I not seeing something that should. It would seem that if they are all pretty much the same product that it would be wise to go with the cheaper price from someone like Wilcox. Wilcox seems to have a good
rep with most on the forum.

Thanks for your imput.

I have currently repaired mine, I have been concerned with originallity. Do the corvette judges care about non original door panels?

I bought several things from several different vendors based on prices. Most all of the interior pieces came from Corvette America ultimately. When it came time for carpet, door panels, and convertible top, I bought from Al Knoch.

I guess what I trying to say is, if they are made by the same company but sold by a different retailer, why should I pay $200 more for the same item. Not trying to beat a dead horse but I don't understand. Is there a reason to buy from Al Knoch if another seller is selling his doors for $200 cheaper, which if what everyone is saying that most door panels are made by him or mid america, why wouldn't I want to pay the lower price. I must be missing something here and it's probably me but I'm confused.

Thanks as usual for all your help.

I purchased a set for my 82. Very satisfied with the materials and construction. Al Knoch is the best choice. Beware of seconds, these are blems that are repaired and sold sometimes as new.
Good Luck
Steve

I believe Al Knock sells his own door panels while most others sell Corvette America door panels. Al is known for his quality. I purchased door panels from a vendor here on the forum which were made by Corvette America. I am very pleased with their fit and overall quality and had no problems installing them.
