I was on my way to an inspection and the cops saw no plates on the vette so pulled me over....all was ok though...I had papers and stuff.....it was pretty cool.
They said that the vette totally stood out and thats how they noticed no plates! They really liked the car.
When I was a teen in HS, I was on my way home from work one day. I was driving my 65 Mustang and a Memphis Ciity cop pulled up next to me and motioned for me to race him to the next stop light. At first...I was thinking it was a trap... the light turned green, he nailed it... I thought what the heck... I nailed it and beat him to the next light. He pulled up next to me and was laughing.... gave me a thumbs up... and we parted way.
Some years ago I was given a warning about my front plate..(had USA 1 plate on)....two weeks later, same CHP got me...got ticket second time...$10 bucks....

Its a Holden Monaro, I think they have an LS1 in them. Me and the family were in Sydney 2 years ago, we went to Bathurst to see the race
Very nice car by the way
Actually, the Holden Monaro is a 2 door....Im quite sure they don't have 2 door cop cars anymore- my dad is a policeman and years ago he was telling me how they had the two door valiant chargers as cop cars but people broke their legs getting out of the bad seat (if they had to get out quickly for a job!)
Reason he told me this is cause my bf used to own a few valiant chargers.
The cop car was a Holden Commodore SS - this one was hotted up (as it was a persuit car)...they have a 5.7 L chev engine in them.
Glad you got out of a ticket. Cops seem to give me much more respect in my 79 Vette than they did in my 05 STi, go figure.
We (my bf and I) were not too concerned....we knew we were doing the right thing and were well within the bounds of the law(for once! j/k) as we were taking our car to get inspected.
I don't think we would have been so keen to take a photo if we got a ticket!
AND....for driving with the wiper door open on a clear day!
Eddie
:o
I really do deserve a ticket for that don't I! The corvette forum will have to start issuing tickets or something!
Ok, I have a fairly good excuse - The wiper door does not work - and since we were going for an inspection where the wipers may be checked - we manually opened the wiper door and kept it open so that if they wanted to test the wipers then all was cool.
They don't know about the vacuum wiper door!
I will definitly be troubleshooting the wiper door sometime soon. Im ordering a kit from Doc Rebuild and one of his colour coded diagrams....my main focus this last few weeks was to get the car ok and the things working that may be inspected.
Is this the Vette you were waiting for? Wow! worth the waith huh? Lookn' good. I can relate to the signs as I was in Perth for nearly 7 years... Have fun! Don
so much that they wanted to confiscate it?
I was also in Aussie last year & was impressed with the Holdens. Really liked the SS Ute
Excellent looking Vette & what a brilliant picture - for once on the corvetteforum we see a car on the proper side of the road Think I'd better get my things &
