After sitting in my garage in many pieces for over 5 years, my 69 coupe is on the road again. I have installed a new crate motor and got it running last week. Today, she is back on the ground ready for state inspection and tags.
Whew, what a project! Thanks to G (68435roadster) for a few choice parts
Passed state inspection today with flying colors. No emissions due to age. Picking up Texas Classic street tags tomorrow.
The motor is a 408hp/417Tq 350ci complete engine with a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty from Prestiege High Performance in Phoenix. I expect it is closer to 385hp since I went with the Air Gap instead of a single plane for hood clearance. Seemed like a reasonable setup for well under $3K including shipping. I added the 750 Speed Demon carb and installed the intake myself.
All the work was done in my garage in jack stands. It sure feels good to be at the driveable stage. Still lots of little things to do like seat covers, some gauges need work and of course the vacuum system
