i bought some VHT (1500F) coating to put on my headers, but i often hear that even that stuff won't last that long.
surfing the net, i found a page by jet-hot , reading about their products i guess for corvette headers the JET-HOT 2000 (2,450°F)should be the right one , anyone have experience with that product and does it really last longer than the VHT flameproof (1500F) ?
of course, many of us here have had our hookers jetcoated so we don't have to worry about our Expensive hookers rusting. mine were done around 7yrs ago and look just like the day jethot did them, inside and out. VHT, what a joke compared to JET-HOT
hmm... reading over their page it looks like i have to send my headers to them and they will coat it.... it is not that i can buy the product and coat it myself i guess? ( a bit costly to ship the headers from europe)
We have several active members from Europe. Perhaps they can suggest a path to follow. Jet Hot is certainly the way to go, if you only want to do it once.
I bought mine new, pre-coated, directly from Jet Hot for less than I could get them from Hooker.
If you take your time and do it right, VHT will last as long as anything else. I sprayed my Hooker headers with VHT and they lasted 20 years. They are still sitting in the garage and look OK.
my ram horn exhaust manifolds were done by airborne coatings -same process also did the chambered exhaust, ''y'' strap on tire tub ,body mt # 3 acess covers ,,under car heat shields and cooling fan-------
