Default NCRS Question???

I am in need of replacing the interior of my '71 vette. The vehicle came with a standard vynal interior and has crank windows, etc...No frills. My question is; can I replace my entire interior with pile carpet & leather seats instead of 80/20 loop and comfort weave seats without anyone knowing the difference.

There is no protect-o-plate listing what the car came with originally and need to know if changing from a standard to a deluxe interior will affect the collectibility.

Also, would swapping out the shifter plate with an aftermarket one be noticed?

Thanks for any input on this

the trim tag in the door jam has the codes for the interior. those codes tell whether it was leather or vinyl. so people could tell if they knew what they were looking for.

not sure about collectability.

If you put a full blown 454 cubic inch motor with the blower threw the hood no one would notice the interior changes

Put in leather & cut pile.......major points deduction. Car won't win/pass any status.

I put in deluxe door panels, cut pile carpet and leather seats, but then I really don't care about NCRS and I have all the original pieces (except for the carpet) if I ever decide to sell.

Are you sure you want to go with cut pile? Mine currently has some blue cut pile, but I bought a set of the original loop. There's something about the cut pile that bugs me. I'm not sure what exactly it is, maybe too Austin Powers or something.

Difference between standard and Delux is the seat material, carpet, door panel trim and a faux wood trim on the console. Easy to upgrade but, again, the trim code is on the plate in the door jamb so you'll only fool the folks who don't know.
