We need pics, BTW Hooker sidepipe headers have 1 7/8 inch primaries. No way to tell if you need to to jet up or down with A/F mixture or you can read yuor spark plugs

well my sparks plugs were already black becuase when i instaled a 750 race carb it was way to rich. also what are the spark plug conditions i just want to double check and make sure i didnt mix anything up.

ok...this is a bit off what you are asking....but I was wondering if you guys (the dudes that installed the side pipes) have put/filled the rear valence panel on yet? or if you still have the holes there for the rear exit exhaust?

Im just trying to work out whether or not I want to put on my side pipes (I have them) ... or if I want to go chambered just so I don't have to mess around with the rear valence fill panel...cause I kinda like my 70 looking original.

I don't know why putting on side exhaust would necessitate a change to your carb settings any more than putting on undercar exhaust. In either case the engine should be tuned to run its best.

I'm in the process of adding side exhaust (Hookers) but I'm not using their headers since I'm also going with fuel injection. (There isn't a place for the O2 sensor on the Hookers).

Cosmic - why not try side exhaust *and* chambered. That's what I'll be doing (http://www.classicchambered.com/). I like these because they are the only solution which provides a full 3 inch exhaust.

I don't know whether it's worth it to fill the valence panel or not at this point, so it will just stay as is.

Corvette Central (and others, I'm sure) carry a valence that has "ears" to fill in the rear exhaust cut-outs. The holes on mine needed redrilling to align, but it does cover fairly well.
