Default Paint Question

You guys/gals may have seen my reply in the Wr Bonnet Yellow post but I didn't want to hijack it so I'm asking this question Here:

Anyone know where I can get some WBY model paint? I have a plastic model of my car and want to finish it. I've gotten to the point where I need to paint the body but cannot find a shade that is close. I got rid of my airbrush a long time ago and don't want to have to buy one just for one model. I would like to find WBY (or close) in a spray bomb.
Thanks

look for a good automotive paint store. the kind that sells gallon cans of base coats/clear coats/ etc..

They should be able to get something into a can for you

I think Mid America sells small bottles of touch up paint for about $6.50. It may be all you need for a model.

There was a vendor at Carlisle that had about every color used on corvettes, but his paint was $10 a bottle. I bought one because I don't know what my paint is called. He did a fairly good job of trying to match it.

I can get his name and address off of the bottle if you want it.

Give Larry Bell (Forum member) a holler. He's in the automotive paint business so he mixed Millie Miglia Red paint in a spray can for me. Although it's lacquor, it matched great for touch ups and little fringe parts. Gave him the code and it was shipped in a few days.

I seem to remember lacquer will melt a plastic model. I did this and pretty sure it was lacquer. Best to test a peice of the molding tree or some other non useful part.

Did you find what you needed? I forgot to find my bottle of paint. Finally remembered. If you still need it, here's his info:

Sorry it took so long.

I agree, be careful with what paint you use. If my memory serves me, I melted a 59 El Camino model spraying it with lacquer. Just test it on scrap parts first to be safe.
