When I bought my vette it needed a new nose. The nose that was on it was aftermarket and looked like hell. It had different front end bracketry from frame horns to the nose. What pieces do I need to restore the original nose and brackets. One more question, where does the headlight assem. mount to besides the underside of nose? Thanks
The nose on a 68 Corvette includes the driver fender, passenger fender, top surround, front valence panel and all the bonding strips. The brackets are the center brace, L&R outer braces, L&R outer extensions, L&R lower crossmember extensions, L&R reinforcement extensions and L&R frame horn extensions. Then there's all of the 68 only grill brackets.
The headlights bolt up to the front edge top surround reinforcement and the top surround wide beam reinforcement.
If you don't already have one I highley suggest getting a 68 AIM. It shows how all the pieces fit and gives the correct part numbers.
