82 Front air deflector.

82 Front air deflector.

The air deflector was missing when I got it and am putting one on. Does it go above the hook in the center or below. Tried it both ways but it seems flimsy. Probably would rattle a lot at highway speed. Is there any other bracing that I'm missing?

It sits on top of the "hook". There are no other mounting brackets as it is supposed to "float" when you hit something solid with it.

Is there another piece in center? Where the two air dam extensions meet?

yes, it's 3 pieces, 2 rubber skirts and a fiberglass V shaped piece.

The replacement fiberglass piece doesn't take road impacts very well. Make sure you have it installed level or you'll get an expensive trip to the body shop.

82 air deflector

In your picture it looks like there is something mounted in the center that goes to the front asm. Don't have that on mine... Looked in assembly manual and it doesn't show anything either.
