this issue has been my pet peeve ever since i got into vettes. its been my experience that youd be better off buying a NEW one, and NOT a re-man unit. as for the alignment, no you should not have to provided you get the exact # of turns as the one you take off. the c-3 psvalve is the sole reason im getting steeroids

i have installed 2 re-man units and both were garbage. i installed a NEW one and im not totally happy with that one either. maybe im just used to newer cars. its really not a big deal to do. mine have always been hard to turn on and off the steering link. i used a pipe wrench to turn it . you gotta adjust a new or re-man unit too! with the steering ram unhooked turn adjusting screw until you achieve equall movement in and out and turn to a middle setting with no movement. you can slightly heat the ball joint part to help it pop out if the fork aint enough

I just rebuilt my original valve and it doesn't leak. The fit of the aftermarket hoses are another story though. The problem with mine was the original installer screwed the valve on too tight-removing the clerence from it. When the pinch bolt was installed it hit the edges of the threads where the relief was ground in. This caused the threads to roll. I had to remoive the valve with a pipe wrench and 3' pipe! Then had to fix the threads and set to the correct position.
Good luck,
Gary
