Did Fram stop making the PH13?? Ive been to multiple auto parts stores and no one even has an empty tray for them anymore... Just jumps from PH8 to PH16!
Ive been using it since I got this motor and wanted stick with it... Im way over due for a change too...
Any recommendations if it is no longer available??
TIA, Chris

I used to use the Fram filters until I saw a study like this before. Have not used one since. I ran a Purolater on the Vette last. Probably go with it again. Wix is another one that I would not have thought of but I have heard good stuff about them also.
Well alrighty then...... no more Fram for me!
This is why I missed the forum... havent been on in over year more or less.... missing out on the good information!!
Well I disagree, I have done my own testing over many years. I've got 5 vehicles , Dodge Dakota 140k miles,VW Jetta 121k miles, Dodge Dakota 55k miles, Honda Accord 45k miles, 80 Corvette 16k miles. Just sold a Pontiac Bonneville 111k miles. Have used Fram filters on all of my cars for 10/15 years with out 1 problem. Change it often that is the key. Just my .02 cents.
I had a couple of bad PH13's/ or equiv. on my truck. After a week or two of running my oil pressure would noticably drop. Stuck a WIX filter (NAPA) and never experienced the problem again.
For everybodies information: Fram, Quaker state, and Motomaster(for us Canadians who like Canadian Tire) are all Fram filters and the above problem happened with at least one Fram and a Quaker State.
I run Wix/NAPA filters in all my vehicles now. I've never experienced a problem with them. COme to think of it When I trashed the vette's motor it was running a Motomaster.... ok I'll blame it on them instead of my right foot.
