Battery current
I know this is an elementary question, but here goes. In an attempt to troubleshoot the wiring in my '74, I've got a tester light, and a book that should walk me through everything. My only question is...is there a current flowing through the wires when the car is off? The car won't start because I've got so many things disconnected right now, since the front dash is off, and I just wanted to make sure that I have the proper wires connected. Thank you

Clocks usually. Radios usually for memory functions and of course any computer cars. Other than that there should be no power flowing. If there is then thats the problem your looking for.
Those all take very very little power though. In the milliamp range.
