The heat gun thing didn't work out so well for me, I had better luck with the razor blade method. What is your technique for stripping the paint with a heat gun? How hot, how close, and long do you heat the area that your stripping?
I have "orange peal" all over the car. Some comes of very easy with the r. blade. But in other areas it seems to need a little more "umph" to get. I was wondering if the heat would help. SGT Kirk
I had the same problem, I wound up sanding the stubborn areas with 80 grit by hand to knock it down. This method takes a little it longer and requires more elbow grease, but I found it to work better for me than the heat gun did. Like Big G said, it may not work on every paint job, you'll just have to try it and see. Maybe you'l get lucky like he did, I wasn't that lucky.
i know its not the best thing, but when my dad painted the vette 20 years ago he just sand blasted the entire thing. said the paint come off in no time.

I was thinking the same thing. Mine came off in little bitty pieces. I was afraid to cook the vette using the heat gun. Does look funny with the whole hood paint coming off in one sheet. Makes me wish mine would have came off like that, it would have made my job a whole lot easier. Good work guys.
